Examples of over-the-counter medications that can be used to treat tinea versicolor include:clotrimazole (lotrimin af or mycelex), miconazle (monistat or m-zole), selenium sulfide (selsun blue), terbinafine (lamisil). Lots of stuff for a harmless fungus.
