: It really depends on how much Ventolin you are taking. If you are taking 2 puffs up to four times daily, you will likely not have an issue with irregular heartbeats with azithromycin. If you are taking more of the inhaler than that or you experience a racing heart, tremors or feel skipped beats when using the Ventolin inhaler, then speak with your doctor before taking the azithromycin. The most effective controller inhalers for asthma all have steroids. Alternative steroid-free options includes oral Montelukast which is used in those with allergic asthma. I would discuss more with the doc you see for asthma.
