Varies : There are many potential causes including a phlebitis, which is an inflammatory condition of the veins themselves; can also be an arthritic or inflammatory condition of the wrist or hand itself.  Don’t hesitate to be seen for an accurate diagnosis.

May be infection, inflammation involving skin, muscles, tendons, blood clot in the vein, nerve pain form neuropathy. It is better to have examined by a professional.

Depends!: Did you fall on it? If you had a severe blow to it or fell, you may have a fracture.  The only way to be sure is to get an x-ray.  Your age is not appearing.   It is easier to break bones when older or in childhood and adolescence. If your pain lasts for more than a few days, worsens, or you have numbness, tingling or weakness, see a doc. No ibuprofen, aleve, or aspirin for 72 hours). Tylenol, (acetaminophen) ice

My not be vein.: Common caused of tingling and numbness in the hand are usually related to nerve problems such as carpal tunnel or ulnar nerve irritation.  The bulging vein may have no relationship to the tingling and numbness.  Other causes of your symptoms could be arterial with decrease blood into the hand but this would not cause a vein to bulge.  You should certainly follow up with your physician.

Very grave question!: When you are standing up and you lower your arms the blood in your veins will drop towards the floor (unless you are in a space capsule), due to the force of gravity. (Remember your HS Physics). You will see some small bumps too. Those are the valves in your veins which prevent backflow. If you lift your hands and arms above your heart the blood will quickly flow back to your heart.

Swollen hand veins.: Hand veins can swell for many reasons but the most common is certainly hereditary .  Other factors would be level of hydration, aging, sun exposure and loss of elasticity and volume. Actually, I am amazed at the amount of women that i see with bulging hand veins.  They can be easily treated with laser or sclerotherapy and usually a combination of both.
