Xanex?: Xanex is usuall given for anxiety or stress related symptoms.  You are best advised to taper the dose, as in taking 5 mg once daily for a week or so, then stopping.  Valium may complicate the withdrawal from Xanex.

Serious: Oh my gosh! please don't try to do this by getting advice from unknown doctors on the internet. You need to come clean with your prescribing physician about your actual use of Ativan (lorazepam) is and then work together to taper this down. This is a serious issue.

Valium: Valium is not specifically a pain medicine, but it can help relax muscle spasms and anxiety.  It has a fairly long half-life in your system, especially when taken regularly.  Please talk with your doctor about any pain you're having -- if you are being treated for muscle spasms, valium should help.

Not if it: wasn't ordered that way for you.  Most often the prescriber will provide parameters for use.

No: Although you may experience mild "rebound" (a little more trouble falling asleep, maybe slight nervousness) for a day or two after stopping, it's also very possible you won't feel anything at all when you stop.  Either way, it's not dangerous to stop "cold turkey" after this dose/duration.

Ambien (zolpidem): Ambien (zolpidem) should be taken no longer than a few days in a row. You need to coordinate your care with one MD if you have access to 3 different CNS depressant medications.  Respiratory depression can occur. Also all have withdrawal states and can precipitate clinical depression.
