Generally safe: This is highly effective (and comes with a belch that some people find satisfying). But relief and protection of esophagus is brief. It's a large sodium load (equal to the same amount of table salt), a serious problem in people with high blood pressure or certain heart, liver, or kidney problems. Better to use antacid tablets or liquids, which are highly effective and easily available worldwide.

Have patience: Your treatment was appropriate. You burned the skin and it will take time to heal. If the skin is not broken you might want to use a very mild soap to wash with and apply a hand cream with aloe to the appropriate area. Scarring may occur depending on how soon you gave your self the first aid treatment. If increasing redness and pain continues after a couple of days see your family physician.

Not your best choice: Don't get your hopes up. Sodium bicarbonate (sodium bicarbonate) (baking soda) is a poor alkalinizer of the urine as the body turns it into carbon dioxide (which is exhaled) and table salt; all you've done is sodium-load yourself. You'll have trouble getting calcium oxalate to dissolve in anything, but your urologist may try some other alkalinizer to perhaps help a uric acid stone; don't get your hopes up.

How much?: Why did you drink baking soda? A small amount is not going to have any effect. Even a large amount will get taken care of by the kidneys, without any damage to the kidney. It will not give acid, in fact baking soda is alkaline. 
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

It indicates that...: Stopping apple cider vinegar or baking soda might be a good idea for now. A primary care doctor or a gastroenterologist (stomach specialist) can evaluate to confirm the problem of gastro-esophageal reflux disease. The doctor may test for h. Pylori stomach infection, and start effective medications, including acid blockers. Plain water, nonfat milk, green tea, or simple soup broths may feel ok.

No: Your stomach acid is already under control by the Pepcid. Consider anxiety treatment and medications to put out the emotional turmoil.

No.: And not safer.  Too much sodium for starts.  I would try an h2 blocker, before moving to a ppi like omeprazole.  Long term use can causes many problems. 150-300mg of generic Zantac (ranitidine) may be all you need!

Diet?: Avoid caffeine, alcohol, acidic food/juice, carbonation, and heavily spiced things. Consider weight loss if overweight. Also consider evaluation for a hiatal hernia.

Need Ranitidine or: You have to stop drinking baking soda and cider and take over the counter ranitidine or omeprazole for acid reflux
