A primary care doctor or a gastroenterologist (stomach specialist) can evaluate to confirm the problem of gastro-esophageal reflux disease. The doctor may test for h. Pylori stomach infection, and start effective medications, including acid blockers. Plain water, nonfat milk, green tea, or simple soup broths may feel ok.
