Infection Possibly: Strong urine odors can arise from foods, medications, alterations in your metabolism or infection.
An ammoniac smell to the urine can occur with dehydration.  However, there are certain bacteria that can create a similar pungent smell.
If the odor is associated with urinary symptoms such as urgency, frequency and burning, it would be best to have the urine checked for infection.

High protein intake: The kidney excretes acid by producing ammonia which traps the acid in urine.  Most people eat 1mosm/kg per day of acid in the form of protein ( amino acids).  Therefore when eating a high protein diet or having a concentrated urine it can smell like ammonia.

Possible UTI: Majority of UTIs are nitrite positive, however UTIs from so called "gram negative" bacteria such as  enterococcus, staphylococcus, streptococcus are usually  nitrite negative at urinalysis. These bacteria can be seen on microscopy &amp; grown on bacterial culture. My advice is to get your urine cultured &amp; have your primary care health provider prescribe some antibiotics. Good luck.

Check for infection: Get a urinalysis done by your doctor to guide you and diagnose the problem.  Infection seems likely.

Likely UTI: Symptoms of a urinary tract infection can include urinating more frequently than usual, burning/pain with urination, and foul smelling urine.  If severe, there can be fever or even back pain as the infection travels upwards towards the kidneys.  A primary care physician can diagnose and treat a urinary tract infection properly. If not infection, other less likely possibilities exist.

I : I cannot diagnose the cause for these symptoms. A rotten egg smell is described as being much like the smell of sulphur.  You could have an infection. You could have a diet high in food that contain sulfhur (garlic, curry, onions, meat, eggs, cauliflower, etc.)  you could even have a metabolic disorder.  Because your urine is also cloudy, i recommend that you talk with your doctor about this.

May be normal...: Your existing urine odor and cloudiness could be just normal and unique for you as long as urinalysis from properly collected fresh urine is normal since its odor just reflects what you consume and its cloudiness is related with alkaline urine which usually contains more amorphous phosphate crystals, leading to cloudy urine. So, seek counseling and confirming as described. Best wish..
