Is my level suggestive of a kidney problem ANS: Why are they testing urine protein many times? Must suspect some renal disease. I would ask the Drs. ordering the test they know you best.

Proteinuria: Proteinuria may be seen with a uti. If the urine culture is negative, one needs to have a 24 hour urine collection to see the amount of protein in the urine ( and to assess the kidney function of the person. I would also do a renal ultrasound to assess the size of the kidneys. Depending on the amount of p the results of the blood tests a renal biopsy may be needed if no diagnosis is made by them.

Staying hydrated: You probably began your experiment dehydrated. There are of course "insensible losses" or volume losses that can't be measured-- mostly this is from the humidified breath. That can amount to 0.5 L right there. You also lose water in the stool... You could account for that. Try the experiment when your urine is clear- when you are not mildly dehydrated. I think you will get better results.

See nephrologist: Constant protein and red blood cells in the urine should be explained.  A careful exam by an expert in kidney disease (nephrologist) would be reassuring.  It may not be serious or it may be related to your kidney infections if, in fact, they were infections.  But if you have the red blood cells and protein "all the time" even when your infection is gone, check it out.

Be more specific?: Something's wrong here. Urinary output parallels fluid intake from all sources. If you drink more water, and your kidney function is reasonably normal, you pee more. If you're not drinking much, and it's a hot day and you're sweating, your urine output will be lower than some reference range. Generally, don't try to diagnose yourself or other with labs without sharing a clinical history.
