Proteinuria: Proteinuria may be seen with a uti. If the urine culture is negative, one needs to have a 24 hour urine collection to see the amount of protein in the urine ( and to assess the kidney function of the person. I would also do a renal ultrasound to assess the size of the kidneys. Depending on the amount of p the results of the blood tests a renal biopsy may be needed if no diagnosis is made by them.
