Depends on the cause: It depends on why you have this pain. If its from excercise, you may need a good stretching routine. If its from hunching over a desk all day, it could be a question of improving your posture. For acute pain however, I have found heating pads with or without ibuprofen/motrin/aleve to be helpful. Acupuncture & chiropractic are also helpful.For chronic pain, physical therapy may be very beneficial.

Joint arthritis: Most often, chronic neck pain comes from chronic inflammation and arthritic changes in the facet joints of the vertebrae of the neck. The pain frequently refers to the shoulder and even down the arm. Anti-inflammatory medications, and when needed, injections of the painful joints of the neck can help quite a bit. Ask your doctor about these options.

Start with primary: Try physcial therapy and nsaids.  Tell your higher-ups about your problem and they may help you have a more ergonomic work station to try and alleviate your problems.  If nothing helps you may need to see an interventional pain physician, but i would start with your primary care.

Continue massage: It is possible that you have muscle spasm, a shoulder issue or cervical disc disease amongst other possibilities. See a spine specialist or Orthopedist who can make the diagnosis which may require an MRI and possibly have you start active physical therapy. In the meantime continue massage as this is helping. Once the cause is established it will be easier to trial additional treatments. Update me

That's why it's so important to go see your family doctor for thorough evaluation.
