Who's the person?: I'm not sure if this is a serious question. You only need two people to perform IVF. If you add a third person then it must be a carrier (Surrogacy) and that is not unethical. If you mean you are mixing the sperm of two men and then fertilizing the egg, then this is opinion. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

why are topical anesthetic for hood piercing "unethical"?

Hmmm...: If someone desires a hood piercing and elects to have some sort of topical anesthesia then i don't believe it is unethical. Topical anesthesia can work, but in the case of a hood piercing (i assume clitoral hood?) it may not be as effective as injected anesthesia. If the person doing the piercing denies you adequate anesthesia then i would simply go elsewhere. A challenging question.

isn't answering a medical question without ever seeing the patient unethical? isn't google a better option, next to seeing a doctor in person?

Accepted Answer

Ethics : Providing helpful medical information is not the same thing as answering a medical question. Responding to medical questions is similar to "normative ethics". Providing affirmative answers on the other hand is similar to "applied ethics". In my opinion, this arena is normative  and should not to be construed as applied. Google is similar to meta-ethics; its true value can't be known.

why do some people consider prenatal genetic testing to be unethical?

Accepted Answer

Religion: Some religions forbid abortion, and others even forbid the pre-implantation testing of at-risk embryos.  Others (i'm an episcopalian) support whatever you must do to have a healthy family.  Thankfully (i think) most of the world enjoys enough freedom of religion and from religion that no one need be forced to bear a child who will die young and miserably of a genetic disease.

The Abortion Debate: Testing for genetic conditions introduces the ethical question : what to do with the information ? That's when the politics starts.

is a woman knowingly getting pregnant and giving birth to a baby while hiv+ considered unethical?

Accepted Answer

Why?: As i understand it, current retroviral treatments can make HIV levels undetectable in some individuals and prevent transmission to the baby.  If would be a concern if the mother were not getting appropriate HIV treatment and prenatal care.

Growing up : Sex is tough. Then there are the social and cultural stuff that goes with being dig preferment than your neighbors. Here are a couple books: "Loving Someone Gay" by Don Clark. Or: "The a Joy Of Gay Sex".

You : You clearly sound very upset about this. I am concerned about the health of your teeth, but  am also concerned about your mental health. It is possible for an individual to perpetually think that others are out to harm him or her.   Granted, there are dangers in the world but some people are more apt to see things  as threatening or dangerous.  Have you received mental health care in the past?  This would likely benefit you.

Not ethics issue: It is common knowledge that x-ray studies such as regular x-ray films or CT scans do put out a bit of radiation, and that radiation does not noticeably increase "one particular person's risk of cancer," when added to the radiation risks for cancer she already experiences just by living on planet Earth. Doctors do discuss the risks of getting repeated x-rays, but that is a different situation.

what causes your urethia to become swollen and sore?

Accepted Answer

A number of causes: Could be due to infection, trauma, contact dermatitis from soap or detergent, eczema or other atopic dermatitis.  Best to have it looked at by a physician and get a urinalysis. If you are sexually active it would probably be wise to get chlamydia and gonorrhea screening too.
