Sports.: Eat healthfully. Try to eat at least 5 servings of vegetables &amp; 4 of fruit per day. Increase nutritional fiber.  Avoid refined sugar &amp; junk carbohydrates.  Avoid sweetened juices, soda &amp; caffeinated beverages.  Ensure that you get adequate protein intake.

He needs variety..: A variety of food types and portions/servings are recommended--see the pyramid for example. Since he is growing and playing contact sports, he can burn off calories faster than those who don't, and thus needs to take in more. But in general, we eat too much anyway. Minimize junk foods/sodas. So watch his wt. See doc at least annually. Consult your doc/nutritionist if you need help. . Good luck.

No: Football will not stunt growth. Most growth plates close around 16-18 so i don't think u will get much taller. Nothing u can eat will increase ur height. Only growth hormone will help.

Diet and exercise: You must have your body fay content drop to around 5% of your total body weight to get "ripped". The average un-ripped person carries 10-20 % body fat so 5-15% of your current weight  is the fluff you need to lose. Good workouts are fine to build muscle mass and strength, but it requires great dietary control to achieve this look.

Get Evualuated: That is awful large and should be evaluated.  It might be able to be drained or worse case removal in operating room if continues to be a problem.  The burning could be due to nerve injury.  Either way get it evaluated so that you can know what it is and receive proper treatment.

FOOTBALL PAIN: It is physiological to have lower extremity pain after playing football. But if you want to loss weight, eat plenty of fruits and veggies montly leafy and yellow.

Yes: Banding is a good first step.  A small, thin rubber band is placed on the dilated vein (hemorrhoid) and the vein dies off and drys up.  This works fo many people.  But if you continue to have problems you will need to have them excised (cut out).  Try banding 1st-- a surgeon, colorectal surgeon or even some GI specialists will do that for you.  Good luck.

swollen finger after catching football awkwardly.  two months ago.  swelling improved over 1st month but finger still sore. does it take weeks/months?

Fracture healing: If you broke the finger, it could definitely still be sore. Bones take 6 weeks to heal, typically. If it wasn't splinted all that time, it will take longer. If it was a soft-tissue injury, like a ligament/tendon injury, that could be tender for several weeks as well. It would be a good idea to see a doctor if you are having trouble with your range of motion. Good luck.
