get xray: At this point the pt. (hopefully)should no longer be intoxicated.An xray is indicated to see if the rib is 'broke' and to rule out a pneumothorax.Even w/ breath sounds equal etc. Rib fxs. Generally heal on their own in 6-8 wks and just need protection while healing. Good luck!

Yes: what you are describing is pretty "classical" for subluxing (partial dislocating) ribs at the posterior cartilage connection with your spine..
UNFORTUNATELY you cannot "splint" your chest (you need to breathe / cough.. If the pain is severe an injection may be helpful! 
Consult your PCP (Primary Care Provider =) for hands on diagnosis and treatment!

Difficulty breathing: Injured ribs can cause pain with chest expansion as the air-filled lungs and chest expand with each breadth. Treatment is usually supportive and activity is limited by tolerance to pain. Like mostfractures, ribs can take upwards of 6-8 weeks to heal.

Rest: just take it easy and give it time; they will heal.  just be careful to avoid any activity that causes discomfort.  Make sure to take deep breaths (don't splint your breathing b/c of pain).  Take Motrin as directed.  If it gets worse or you have any other symptoms see your doctor.

Hello. : Hello. Although nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications like Motrin can sometimes be very helpful, it may not be strong enough for the pain control you are looking for. You might need narcotics and you can only get that by prescription. If you don't have medical insurance you might look into a clinic in your area that provides sliding fee services. Take care.

If: If you are implyiing that "he" injured you, then yes, you should get away from such an individual. No one should be abused. (if I am understaning you correctly.) be careful, have a support group - speak to someone i.E social worker, psychologist, the police to make sure you seperate in a manner that will not put you in more jeopardy.

Yes you can.: Broken ribs are most commonly the result of blunt trauma.  A simple fall can result in a broken rib or two.

Most heal on their own without surgery, but it appears that multiple broken ribs that affect breathing do better when fixed with modern plate and screw devices.

Let it heal: Even if you broke a rib, there  is nothing to be done about it as long as you have no other symptoms than the ones you described.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

i fell and landed on my lower left side and my 7 n 8 rib is cracked, lower back bruised, n still feel the pain straight thru, its 4 weeks now n i get sharp pains when i cough or sneeze, behind my left breast? i'm worried thank you?

: Pain is likely still due to the fractured ribs, i.e. rib cage pain, it is not over yet. The worst case, splinting reflex from thorax pain may cause atelectasis of the lung which leads to pneumonia; in that case fever will occur besides the pleuritic chest pain. However, I doubt this latter scenario.
