get xray: At this point the pt. (hopefully)should no longer be intoxicated.An xray is indicated to see if the rib is 'broke' and to rule out a pneumothorax.Even w/ breath sounds equal etc. Rib fxs. Generally heal on their own in 6-8 wks and just need protection while healing. Good luck!
