my dr
is treating me. with pain meds i also was on many. on many other meds but no luck i have very active life and i cant do my daily task anymore bc pain

after a back/si injury x-ray & mri shows thoracic c. fractures, bulge@l-5-s1, tear@l4-l5 & levoscoliosis at l3-l4. after moving new dr say x-ray is normal!? still uneven w/pain & muscle weekness spasms. how do i seek treatment or get diagnosis?!?

Believe it  or not: aerobics,  (running, jogging, working with a trainer), yoga, pilates and stretching classes. Speaking to a sports psychologist and learning that pain is controllable

Pain, swelling: Typically the symptoms will be pain, swelling and limited use due to pain.
Usually the injury is secondary to a fall and 
will require a cast for 4-6 weeks to heal.

It will heal, but...: Most fractures will heal no matter what. However, it's best to seek treatment with an orthopaedic surgeon to ensure that the bone heals in an appropriate position. If the bone heals in a bad position, called a mal-union, it may cause pain, joint dysfunction, or lead to arthritis or loss of motion. See a board certified orthopaedic surgeon for an x-ray and treatment. Healing will take about 6 weeks.

Spinal fracture: The treatment depends on if this is a new fracture or old and on the age of the patient and the mechanism of injury. If it's an old healed fracture there is no treatment necessary at this stage if it's an acute fracture then bracing may be an option versus surgical intervention.

Relative Rest: Stress fractures are overuse injuries.  Mainstay of treatment is rest.  Requires athlete's injury be placed in whatever is necessary to eliminate pain.  Casting/crutches for le injuries may be necessary.  In some activity modification without bracing or immobilization may suffice. Underlying hormonal, vitamin deficiencies corrected. Training errors identified. If untreated may progress to fracture.
