Usually ok: Its best to let your doctor answer this question because he knows your history.  In general, in a healthy uncomplicated pregnancy, with no cervical dilation or contractions, its usually ok to make a 3 hour drive in the car at 36 weeks.   Get out and walk for a few minutes half-way there.  Have an idea where you would go if your water-bag broke as the bride was walking down the isle.   Best wishes!

Yes…: It is unlikely that car travel will put you at risk when you are 13w2d gestation. However, at any gestational age it is wise to not sit for prolonged periods of time. You should stop and walk around a little every 1 to 2 hours.

Should be OK: But to be on a cautious side, you still need to be sure that in the place, where you are going there is a hospital  performing deliveries with the obstetrician on call. You  never know in the last trimester what can trigger preterm labor.

Please don't : I betcha even if you wanted to, you are going to have to stop to pee. Regardless, you want to get out and stretch your legs every 1-1/2 hours or so.

Premature delivery: The most obvious risk is premature labor followed by delivery "on the road" without the specialized care of a Neonatal intensive Care Unit (NICU) to "save" the fetus.  Take that into account before a decision is made to travel.

Confirm with doctor: you will need to get clearance from your doctor. If the low placenta indicates a partial previa they will probably not want you to travel.

Yes: As long as there are no other complications with the pregnancy, car travel with frequent breaks is safe. It is important to stretch your legs during the trip, even if by plane, to prevent blood clots. Pregnant women are more prone to them because of the hormones and increased blood volume.

Not so much: Passive exposure to cigarette smoke is not desired but is likely to have minimal if any effect on your baby. Just plan your life around avoiding the exposure &amp; if asked tell her why. I would also let her know you don't want her smoking around baby when it comes. It does have a clear increase risk of crib death/respiratory illness from that point.

Travel in pregnancy: I would not recommend that a pregnant women at 30 weeks sit in a car for 1800 miles or 24 to 30 hours.  The uterus and baby apply pressure on the blood vessels going to the legs and increases the possibility of developing a blood clot that could be fatal to both mom and baby.  If the trip were absolutely necessaryshe needs to stop and walk around every hour (or two at the most) otherwise not ok.
