Travel in pregnancy: I would not recommend that a pregnant women at 30 weeks sit in a car for 1800 miles or 24 to 30 hours. The uterus and baby apply pressure on the blood vessels going to the legs and increases the possibility of developing a blood clot that could be fatal to both mom and baby. If the trip were absolutely necessaryshe needs to stop and walk around every hour (or two at the most) otherwise not ok.

In general ok: Each individual should discuss their unique situation with their doctor. In general travel is safe in low risk pregnancies. Long hours without walking can increase the risk of dvts (blood clots). I advise my patients to wear circulations stockings and to stop and walk every few hours.
