Anxiety: Emotional stress, no sound sleep/traveling/ /eating at diff time and not balanced Diet, and exhaustion can cause light period. 
Use of Caffeine, Alcohol, Smoking,  and lack of exercise can contribute to light period.
Recent lifestyle changes are causing Anxiety.

Maybe, maybe not: Can you call your dentist and tell them your situation?  I am sure they would be willing to start you on a prescription of antibiotics that would probably make it so you could make it through your travels without any worsening problems.  Then you could do something definitive when you were back.

Split the difference: Switching time zones every week is very difficult to manage. One solution is to live as if you are in a middle time zone, it will be much easier on your body.  Another idea is to live on each coast for longer periods of time, this will minimize the number of times you need to switch your internal clock.

Natural remedies: Some generally helpful natural remedies to help with sleep are: Eliminate caffeine from your diet, get between 30-45 minutes of aerobic exercise daily, take a warm bath &amp; meditate before bed &amp; drink chamomile or ginger tea. Good foods which have melatonin to help induce sleep include cherries, bananas, strawberries, raspberries, oranges, almonds and walnuts. Best of luck with your sleep &amp; health!

im traveling to italy with a music tour group. i have prob sleeping when traveling. dr said i can take a .25 xanax for sleep but to wait at least one hr after ea. glass of wine. takes 1 hr each to metabolize thru liver. do you agree?

: It is quite likely that the exertions of an Italian tour and a glass of wine may be enough for you to sleep.  Several glasses more likely.  I would not recommend both Xanax and alcohol.  The side effects are cumulative and an overly deep sleep when away from home may not be wise.  Do enjoy your tour.

Sleep schedule: Ten pm is a good time if that fits your schedule. Try to get 8-10 hours sleep per night.

High blood pressure: The doctors white coat may have caused your increase in blood pressure. However, have your doctor check your urine, your eye grounds and get an ultra sound of your kidneys to rule out possible cause. If you are taking medications or otc products inform your doctor.

Normal variation: There is a great deal of variation in the amount of sleep individuals require, including variation by age.  If you are able to sleep through the night and wake up feeling rested, sleeping more than you feel is normal may not be a problem. If you are not able to get enough sleep, or feel tired throughout the day, consult a physician as you may not be sleeping well during the night.

How old?: In general, change em, feed em, change em again then gently rock em to sleep.  As they get older let them cry a little and learn to settle themselves down.
