can you prescribe tramadol for back pain?

i have back pain and prescribed 1 50 mg tramadol before bed, but it doesn't put a dent in the pain. can i take them every so many hours at nite?

Tramadol: Tramadol can be taken several ways. You can take 1 tab every 4-6 hrs or you can take 2 tabs at once to see if it will help your pain. I would try your best not to over use the medication as you will run out too soon and your physician may not give you a refill.  Please talk to your perscribing physican so that they are aware that your pain is not well controlled with your current prescription.

was given flerxil 4upper back pain in er. doesn't work at all. i have tramadol but never took it. how long after flex can i take tramadol 50mg safely?

NSAIDs: 
You should take naproxen 500 mg twice a day with flexeril 10mg up to three times a day. Adding narcotics is for severe pain only. Depending upon the mechanism of your back injury you may require a spine specialist to intervene and assess your pain with imaging. Rest, ice, and trigger point or transforaminal injections should be considered first and a pain management consultation as well.

Prescribed?: Tramadol is a pain medication that can be used to treat back pain.  If it is prescribed by a physician, they have evaluated your need for it and it can be taken as prescribed.  If it is a medication from someone else, then you should see a doctor for evaluation.

10 mgflexeril and 100mg  tramadol for back pain , is there any real concern taking these two ?!

Common combo: Very common combo: tca muscle relaxant and pain control medicine. There are some warnings of interactions found.
1. Both increase affecting serotonin levels in the blood.
2. Both increase sedation and drowsiness
rec.: see your pain management physician for clearance.

can something happen to the baby inside if i take the tramadols cause i take them for back pain but i don't know what can happend to my unborn baby?

Category C drug: As a category c drug, animal studies show some adverse effect on the fetus but not enough human studies have been done to verify its level of safety or classify as more worrisome. There are meds that have a b classification & you should discuss your concerns with your obg to see if another plan would be better.

Maybe : You would know only once you try it.  I have used tramadol with much better success compared to vicodin, so i think it is a good move.

i have a really horrible back pain. is it safe to take cataphlam and tramadol? i last took 50mg cataphlam at 8pm.

Depends: The question is are you changing the physicians medication orders?  It is OK to use these meds together but you are doing it at your own risk.
I can't speak for your country but in the US medication that is on prescription is to be used as prescribed. Does your med have a prn or use as needed directions on it.?

Gradually: As with many drugs taken over long periods, this drug should be tapered. Talk to your physician about how to proceed.

ive been off tramadol for over a week, had terrible withdrawal symptoms. i need one for back pain but im afraid of having a repeat of the withdrawals ?

Back Pain: There are a few good meds to treat back pain. Celebrex, Voltaren,  Mobic, (meloxicam) and Relafen just to name a few.  Before Rx, the doctor needs to know your medical history, current medications being taken and and the type and severity of pain. See your doctor for consultation.
