Not really: Ligaments connect bones to one another. Tendons are what attach your muscles to the bones. So there really is no  correlation between a ligament tear and muscle growth.

Your question covers a broad array of injuries from common strains/sprains which may just require a little activity modification to torn ligaments/ tendons that may ultimately need surgery. If an injury involving a joint is unstable, has significant swelling or prevents weight bearing see a doctor.

Can be hard to tell: The biceps muscle has 2 tendons, one that runs in the shoulder joint (proximal) and one that goes across the elbow joint(distal). Both muscle and tendon tears are painful initially.  Muscle tears hurt more in the middle of the arm. The tendon tears tendon to feel better faster, but strength and range of motion are limited. These injuries are best evaluated by a board certified orthopaedic surgeon.

Theraband: Using a theraband, you can strengthen the ankle in a 4 planes- inversion, eversion, flexion and extension. Start with the lightest amount of resistance and profess to the strongest. These bands can be found online and at many stores that sell sporting goods. Don't forget about working on your balance. Stand on the affected leg only every time you brush your teeth. Advance  to standing on a pillow.

Modify activity: It could be a number of different things depending upon your activity level and whether or not there was any specific event that preceded it.  Is the knee swollen or unstable when walking?  Your symptoms should improve over several days to weeks with rest and eliminating any activity that could worsen it.  If not, it is worth getting evaluated by your primary care physician.

i have pain in my hip area. feels like a muscle issue. it is on the right side. cannot stand long, then it aches. i had 2 surgeries on my right knee years ago (torn meniscus in 2010 and ligament replacement in 2013). physio not working.

Exam needed: Your orthopedic surgeon can evaluate and advise you best about this hip pain. If located on the side of the hip, bursitis is a possibility. If pain is toward the groin, arthritis of the hip joint would be more likely. Differences in leg length or abnormal gait from prior knee issues may have played a role.
