No: Neurontin (gabapentin) is good for neuritic pain.  However, it has also been used for seizures.  Topamax (topiramate) is primarily for seizures but is being used for migraine and by some psychiatrists for mood.  This makes things complicated.  Too many of these meds may cause complications.  Both can cause sleepiness and feeling dopey and can cause nausea and depression.

i have epilepsy and take 200mg topamax (topiramate)  twice daily. is it ok to take adderall or adderall xr with my topamax (topiramate) to assist with my anxiety/focus?

Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) XR treats : Symptoms of adhd, but can increase anxiety, as can any stimulant. I could not find any studies on the efficacy of Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) for reducing topamax's side effects of difficulty with  word-retrieval, loss of train-of -thought & loss of memory, so i'll refer your question to adult psychiatrists on the panel. Both meds can cause weight loss. There is no adverse drug interaction listed.

i worry all the time and have really bad anxiety. i take celexa 40 mg a day and topamax (topiramate) for mood swings but still worrying like crazy. i can't sleep. what should i do?

Talk therapy: It sounds like someone is prescribing medications for you,  but in severe anxiety psychotherapy is a very important part of treatment.  The worrying can be helped through tools you can learn in therapy. You can ask your prescribing doctor for a referral. Also there are usefull books to read such as stop obsessing and the mindful way through anxiety -- many exercises there that can help also.

i'm on 50mg of zoloft & 10mg of amitryptiline for head pain & anxiety. was on topamax (topiramate), (topiramate) wasn't thinking straight. want to go back on topamax (topiramate) bipolar ma?

Not clear...: Sorry but the structure of your questions left me wondering which meds left your thinking 'coudy'. Generally, bipolar patients are not left on an antidepressant very long due to the risk of triggering a manic episode. Topomax has been noted to help with weight loss but not so great at stabilizing mood in bipolar 'swinging'. May read up on Depakote or Lamictal as alternatives & discuss with your dr.

There are: potential side effects for all medications. Both of these medications can be very helpful for indicated conditions. Encourage you to sit down with your pharmacist to help address your questions about these medications. Your prescribing physician should also be able to help with that.

Options: There are other options for your bipolar 2 condition.  Wellbutrin won't help anxiety, and may stimulate it in some. Topomax is not a particularly robust mood stabilizer, but does work for some (apparently not you?).  Seroquel may help this, anxiety, and your sleep issues.  Latuda (lurasidone) is another option. Hoping you're working with a psychiatrist as you try these various medications -- psychotherapy too!

I worry when I see this type of question, as it  might mean that someone is considering coming off of a medication without fully discussing with the prescribing provider. Has several adverse effects including: kidney stones, narrow angle glaucoma, metabolic acidosis, heatstroke in kids, paresthesias, slowing of speech and cognition, drowsiness.
Occasion usage in psychiatry.
