Many are good.: Toothpaste has agents in it, like Fluoride to prevent tooth and gum (gingiva) disease.  Mouthwashes, like listerine are also good since they kill bacteria.  Many brands of both these items are effective.  Common toothpaste brands are colgate, crest, and listerine.  Listerine and scope are common mouthwash brands.

Acid reflux?: This could be acid reflux. One way to help confirm that is to try otc Prilosec to turn off the acid producing cells in your stomach. If the acid is leaching into your throat and mouth this medication should decrease or eliminate your symptoms. I would recommend you see a doctor for an official diagnosis whether or not the medication helps.

Ortho and whitening?: Keep your teeth as clean as possible with proper tooth brushing and flossing. Yes, it's more challenging with braces but can be done well. Ask your own Orthodontist for suggestions. Also important is to avoid foods and liquids that contribute to decay. After the braces are off, you can discuss tooth whitening options.

All : All the substances you named can cause allergies and adverse reactions in certain individuals.  
They are not designed to be used as toothpaste.
Why reinvent the wheel?  There are so many toothpaste to choose from.   Look for an american dental association approved toothpaste and you will not go wrong.
Established companies such as crest, and colgate spend enormous amount of time and money on research.  
They have a lot to lose is their toothpaste does not do the job.
It is far more important to worry about proper brushing technique.

Here are my choices.: Really, any toothpaste as long as it has Fluoride in it. The rest is usually personal preference to taste. Tartar control toothpastes have been proven to make a difference in the ability of tartar to form. Soft bristle toothbrushes are best for getting in between and around teeth better. Again, mouthwashes are personal preference. Oxygenating rinses are more effective against bacteria.

May be not: Many toothpastes have fluoride and sodium laurel sulfate which can be a problem. One toothpaste free of these is Periopaste you may try this or just baking soda(sodium bicarbonate), table salt or a combination of both combined with hydrogen peroxide 3% in brown bottle

morning. i have been struggling with irritated gums for a while now. i consulted the dentist twice. i use elgidiun toothpaste and fluoride mouth wash 4 to 5 times a day and the problem just persists. it gets so bad i develop headaches from it.

Gingival Irritation: Not sure what was discussed with your dentist on your two consultations, or what treatment was recommended or completed. If you still have issues, please see a periodontist.
