Toothpaste: See previous reply about balanitis and Reiter's synd. Sometimes peeling (you give a different description now) is because of chemicals in toothpaste. Try brushing with baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) or Closis toothpaste. By all means bring this to the attention of your DR.

White peeling tongue: If there is pain and swelling associated with  this, then you have an infection....Most likely
a candida infection. Seek md dds advice.
If this is just a film without significant sloughing of the tissues, then dehydration is the likely cause and patients should increase water intake 2 liters per day . If this persists for more than 5 days, seek professional consult.

Tongue patches: you probably have a condition known as geographic tongue and the cause is unknown in most cases.  Try to avoid hot or spicy food and try to avoid toothpastes with whitening agents, since these things can make your tongue problem worse.  It can last weeks to months but will generally get better.  If it becomes more painful and persists, see your doctor or dentist about it.  Good luck!

Sounds like fungus: Soft brush you tongue from back to front gently.  May need to see a dentist to get a medication to  get rid of fungus along with this brushing.

Not STD: No STD is a likely cause of symptoms like this. See your doctor for professional advice and diagnosis, but don't worry about STD. If you may be at risk for STD (new partner, partner with other partners, etc), you probably should have routine STD testing, while it's on your mind. But even if something turns up positive, probably it wouldn't explain your mouth problem. Good luck.

Geographic tongue: Sounds like geographic tongue syndrome, it's painless and varies in shape and design every day or so like a map.., there are no treatment for geographic tongue.

Time to see an MD: What is causing this is unclear. Though there are many possible explanations the one most worrisome would be a cancer. This is even more of a concern If you have smoked, or if you have ever had a habit of using chewing tobacco. Of course there are other things that are possible, and usually cancer is painless, but I suggest getting it checked out by a doc in person ASAP.
