Need an exam: To answer your question about the red dot. It could be a variation of normal or a problem. A visual or possible histologic exam are the only way to get more information. As for the tongue, sometimes there isn't enough room and an orthodontic or surgical intervention may be necessary to address that issue. Ask your dentist about this too and expect a referral to an orthodontist or ENT doc.

: Before attributing symptoms to health anxiety, I recommend an  evaluation by a neurologist to exclude a neurological disorder such as Parkinson's disease, for example. This will also give you peace of mind.

It's probably: It's probably that your jaw size or position of your teeth crowd the available space for your tongue. There are medical conditions that can cause an abnormally large tongue- see: http://www.Nlm.Nih.Gov/medlineplus/ency/article/002250.Htm  i suggest you see a dentist for a medical and dental history as well as a clinical exam in order to evaluate and discuss this issue.

my  son is 7 months old and i noticed a big brown spot on his tongue closer to the back of mouth.  he's not really drink or eat.  is this bad?

Sore?: Maybe this is a sore from a viral illness. Make sure he drinks clears to stay hydrated.  Pedialyte, water, juice.  Can offer a dabbing of 1:1 mix Benadryl (diphenhydramine) : Maalox to the sore spot.  If not voiding every 6 hrs or so needs to go to ED possibly for fluids

Swish: Swishing with coconut oil is safe and effective for mild burns and immediate relief.  It's important to spit out anything that is swished in the mouth.  If the burns are deep I recommend being seen in person by your provider ASAP!

No research based: Assuming you had appropriate therapy (surgery and/or radiation/chemo), close follow is the most important thing for you.  There is no specific research I am aware of to recommend a specific supplement.  A balanced diet, with lots of fruits and vegtables would be good, along with a multi-vitamin.  Your pcp or oncologist may consider blood work to look for specific vitamin deficiencies like vit d.

Hemorrhage: Black 'lumps' that 'spread' to other are areas may be submucosal hemorrhages. They may rupture and leave a bloody debris on the tongue.
You need to get a blood test asap. Time is important in determining the cause of your symptoms.

Treat infection: Looks like an attack of virus/bacteria taking advantage of your low resistance to  infection.
Mouth rinses will help (luck warm water with some baking soda helps) great hygiene, and orabase. If persist, consult your doctor for mere potent antiinflammatory medication.And/or antibiotics.
