Vascular problem: Fever with chills and toes that are turning blue black may indicate a serious infection that is affecting your vascular system. I would go to an Emergency Department as soon as possible. If the circulation to your toes is compromised, your tissue may begin to die. Dead tissue can lead to gangrene.

was riding my bike 1 an cleats were to small  it hurt for a week now no pain but my toe is now got a blue-black line in it i think it's bruised?

It probably is: If you have discoloration without pain, it is likely only a bruise. It should lighten an disappear in the next week or so. At your age, circulatory problems would be rare. Next time, wear the correct size shoe. Enjoy cycling...I do.

i need help. i rlly dont want to pay but how do i know if i disclocated my toe or broke it? my friend jumped my all his weigh on my toe and it hurts burns i cant walk or move it much it has a purple/blue/black stop on the toe as well

Xray advised: Severe pain, bruising, and swelling are suggestive of a fracture, however an Xray will be needed to clearly diagnose a fracture or dislocation. Most Urgent Care centers have an Xray readily available, and can assist in treatment. In the meantime, I would advise buddy taping (taping the injured toe to an adjacent toe, which acts as a splint), Tylenol/Ibuprofen, icing, elevation, and rest.

Bruise: He likely hit his toe &amp; accumulated blood beneath the nail. When this happens it takes a long time for the stain to grow out. Kids toenails grow at 1-2 mm/mo so it can take quite a while for it to move to the top &amp; allow you to cut away the stained part. It is not a reason to worry.

Necrosis: Level of pain may help distinguish? Does the skin look like it's decaying? Fever? Pus?

If you were healing: well and you suddenly have marked swelling - I would advise your podiatrist or orthopedic surgeon.

Traumatic injury: First things first!  ice and elevate.  Call a local podiatrist in your area and try to get in for an evaluation today or tomorrow for a possible fracture. You at a minimum need a foot x-ray to determine if you fractured the toe.  Otherwise, it is a contusion (bruise) and icing and elevating it will start the process.

i have a horizontal black/blue line across  the middle of my big toe for months i haven't hit it or anything, now my other big toe is getting it..

Runner's toe: Whether there was trauma you can recall or not, the nail is or was hitting the top of the shoe and you bled under the nail.  (subungual hematoma).   Change shoes if you want, but this will grow out in time.  Or use a nail polish to cover for now.  If there is an odor or pain have the nail removed.

Toe Bruise..: If it is black and blue, then you have managed to traumatize the soft tissue elements, causing a bleed and subsequent bruise formation. It is probably only soft tissue damage but without an x-ray a fracture cannot be ruled out. Consultation with a Healthtap specialist could be a benefit.

why does gout start in the big toe, and then after the attack it all turns black and blue?

Usual/unusual: Gout frequently but not always manifests in the big toe (1st MTP joint) but can also involve any other joint and it is no fun at all, no matter which joint or joints it hits.  Turning black and blue afterward is unusual in my experience and indicates that something else may be going on.
