my toenail is growing backwards, can it grow out without surgery?

Nail Bed Injury?: Did you have an injury on that toenail?  If your toenail is growing in "Backwards", it maybe because your nail bed has been injured.  If your nail bed was injured, surgery may not be able to fix it.  More surgery may even damage the nail further.  
You may need to have the nail permanently removed if it growing in backwards, and especially if it is hurting you.

i have dragged the door backwards onto my foot and it has semi-ripped my toenail off halfway but is still firmly attatched. the nail has bent backward?

Bandaid: Warm soapy water soak 15-20 min and cover with neosporin oint. And a bandaid.  May eventually come off on its own in days to weeks. Keep covered so you don't snag it.  If painful or does not improve see your foot doctor.  May need to be removed. If you need a foot specialist visit apma.Org. Dr l.

i fell backwards and my big toe got stubbed and bent (like when you're on your mark in a race). there are white lines on my toenail and sometime pain when i walk. i worry i might have fractured bones or ligament but id like to avoid xray radiation?

: I would not be concerned about the amount of radiation you will receive and please be evaluated and examined by a doctor. You might not need an X-ray.  X-rays of extremities is minimal.

Yes: You're in philadelphia.  There is a podiatry school and a bazillion podiatrists.
Go.  If needed, have the nail removed and take a course of lamasil (terbinafine).

Still healing.: It is important to remember that all sprained ankles are not the same. They are graded in terms of severity. Residual swelling is usually a sign of some remaining instability in of the injured structures. It is sometimes necessary to stabilize the ankle with some sort of ankle stabilization device for a longer time. You might seek the consul of a specialist and raise these concerns.

i was rolling skating & i fell and on my foot backwards (my right foot was bent hitting my butt while i fell on my butt when my left foot was extended). i never sprained my ankle before so i dont know how it feels. its inside of my ankle that hurts?

: Given the amount of trauma I would recommend seeking medical help. X-ray might be required to access the amount of injury especially if your body weight landed on your ankle

so i fell in the bathroom trying to urinate and i fell backwards and my foot folded under me and all my weight landed on it. my two toes are bruised and possibly sprained and i'm limping should i go to er ?
