Infection: Sore throat infections with fever have many causes, usually viral and are treated symptomatically with acetaminophen or ibuprofen for pain and fever.  Occasionally strep throat may be the cause and requires antibiotics.  If your child has a cough, heavy nasal drainage, breathing problems or will not take fluids orally, it is important to get a doctor assessment.

They all do......: And that is why they have a higher frequency of illness. Unfortunately the mouthing instinct they are born with that assures they will learn to feed is strong.It will be replaces by mouthing for non-nutritive self soothing. This only declines when they learn more interesting things to do with their hands.

Keep out of reach: Toddlers instinctively put everything in their mouths because it might be food. Do a sweep of your house and get everything that isn't nailed down out of his reach. And brace yourself for the next stage, when he starts climbing to reach stuff he can't get to now. That's the reality of rearing children - it gets more and more aggravating 'til they graduate from college. But grandchildren are great!

could you have hpv in your mouth and not know it? if so, could you somehow pass it onto your toddler by kissing them?

Yes/no: There are non-wart strains of HPV that can take residence in the tissues of the oral cavity. They often present no symptoms. They would often clear the primary infection within 2 yrs and may or may not produce later problems or be contagious. They are not passed to a toddler by a simple kiss.

Toddler: As a toddler he is probably stuffing his mouth and therefore has difficulty in swallowing. If after restricting the amounts of food that he eats the situation continues, consult your doctor or gastroenterologist.

Since you : Are not having any signs and symptoms right now after trauma to your mouth, you just need to sit tight and wait. Observe a few more days and go from there. Consult your dentist if anything changed  or you might just be lucky this time with no consequences.

i was feeding my toddler & 6 month old baby. i accidentally gave my 6 month old the food i was feeding the toddler which had raw honey. i quickly took it out his mouth & cleaned him up as much as i could. i'm not sure if he swallowed a small amount?

: The honey issue is because there are sometimes spores of botulism in the mix. Older kids have a gut that passes them through, but under 1 year a rare case of infant botulism can occur if spores start a germ colony in their gut. As long as baby keeps up a normal life pattern of vigorous feeding/play/normal rest I wouldn't worry about it.

my 2.5 years old toddler has red rashes around her mouth like very dry red patches, what causes it, could it be the wind?

Could be...: While irritation from wind could be one cause or an additional irritant, in that age group peri-oral dermatitis (rash around the mouth) is most often caused by her licking around the lips and mouth. It even has a doctor name called "lip-lickers dermatitis. Sometimes moisturizers such as vaseline or lip balm put right on the skin can be helpful. Encourage her not to lick around lips.
