Tongue: Irritability or low grade inflammation of the tongue or superficial nerves of the tongue could be due to vitamin deficiency or intolerance to toothpaste,mouth wash, or may be of unknown cause. If this persists or worsens you   could consult the oral pathology department at a dental school for full evaluation.

No: The tongue is made up of multiple sensory areas. Different areas of the tongue produce different tastes.  The overall combination produces what we call "taste".

Cut/burn: You probably cut or burned your tongue.  Should heal spontaneously.  Salt water rinses may help.  If not getting better in 2-3 days call your dentist.

Multippossibilities: It could be anything from a traumatized taste bud to an inflamed taste bud to inflammation from a external stimulus to something more complicated. I would see qualified dentist to eval and possibly refer to pathologist if needed, most likely minor but get checked to ensure.

Allergy: This may be a sensitivity to something you ate or drank.  What did you eat recently?  Try to avoid this in the future and see what happens.  
As for now, if you can talk, breath, swallow  normally you should be ok.   If you are having difficulties with these then  call your doctor.  If you can't breathe or swallow go to er?

Watch for worsening.: It could as simple as irritation due to pressure against your teeth.
Also you need to observe if this tingling spreads and/or augments as a sign of burning tongue syndrome or vitamin deficiency, mainly vitamin b. Or even iron deficiency.

May never know!: We may never know why you were born with a small split on the tip of your tongue.  If you have always had it and it hasn't changed or gotten worse and is not painful or ulcerated, i would just have your dentist keep an eye on it.
