Wrong people: You're talking to the wrong people.  You should be calling your Dentist about this.  You may have a dental or periodontal infection, present before the cleaning, but exacerbated by the tissue manipulation.  Call your Dentist.

Common occurrence : Gingivostomatitis is the long name for a condition that results in a very sore mouth. It's caused by a viral infection( herpes simplex virus) and is common in children. The symptoms can be mild or severe. While it can be disconcerting to see sores in your toddler's mouth — and to know that she hurts — usually there's no cause for worry.Gingivostomatitis can also be caused by a coxsackie virus.

Couple of possibles: If the gum tissue between the teeth is flattening out or eroding instead of pointed, then this sounds like ANUG. Usually presents with aches and sluggishness and often a fever. Commonly with very stressful times and poor nutrition and sleep. Might also be primary herpetic gingivostomatitis. See your Dentist ASAP for Dx and TX. Or, go to Minute Clinic, etc. Meantime- high fluids, ibuprofen, sleep.

May be: Fist find out cause of swollen gums. If pockets are 4 mm or deep peroxide will not work all you my be doing is causing more problem and may be tooth loss in long run. There is always a cause of your problem. Can not be diagnosed on internet. Please consult your dentist or periodontist. Thanks. Good luck.

my 7 year daughter has had intermittent fever (up to 102for 5 days  now along with a little sore throat and red swollen gums- she is getting a mohler tooth at ths time also. any suggestions for treatment?

Probably viral: If she also has a stuffy nose, this is likely viral.  If she only has a sore throat, i would recommend having your doctor take a look and swab her throat for a quick strep test.  Make sure she's drinking fluids, and use tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen as recommended on the bottle for her weight.
