i had 900mg for my migraine (with aura)2 days ago and drank a fair bit of alcohol last night (about 7 standard drinks). i woke up about 5 hours ago and was and still am very dizzy and feeling disoriented with tingly hands. is this serious?

Numbness: Numbness and tingling in any limb likely is related to nerve compression.  This often happens when sleeping in awkward positions or sitting in awkward positions without moving much.  When relieved of that position, numbness usually resolves.  If persistent, you should see your doctor to check out other possible nerve conditions as well as possible metabolic conditions such as diabetes &amp; low B12.

Maybe stop drinking: Even if you only note periodic episodes of tingling sensations and numbness in your hands and foot, alcohol can lead to neuropathy. I would recommend that if you are finding this direct of an association that you refrain from heavy alcohol, check your vitamin levels and consider seeing a neurologist for a thorough evaluation which may include a EMG/nerve test.

Alcoholic neuropathy: If you drink too much you can feel pain / tingling in your limbs. This is known as alcoholic neuropathy. It means the peripheral nerves have been damaged by the alcohol use. These transmit signals between the body, spinal cord, and brain.
Thiamine, folate, (folic acid) niacin, vitamins b6, b12, ; e are all needed for nerve function. Some damage is permanent - some will correct if you stop abusing alcohol.
