i've had a tingling tongue for 2 weeks now. sometimes it'll be on the left side, sometimes in the middle, sometimes on the right. some days it's bad. some days i don't feel it. i do grind/chew at night at times (anxiety/stress). what could it be?

Thrush: Mostly if you have thrush it may be caused by fungal infection, althought tingling of tongue and it could be from hormonal changes, allergies, acid reflux or medication. Please see your dentist to get the proper diagnosis.

No!: I have never heard of tingling tongue being associated with alcohol poisoning. It can be associated with alitalia different things . Nerve damage in the neck, pressure on the nerve root, infection just to name a few.

Number of things: It could be an allergy, a systemic problem or a nerve problem.  I would suggest seeing your physician to rule out a systemic problem like vitamin b deficiency and maybe consider seeing an oral medicine specialist.  It could be what is called burning tongue.

Evaluation necessary: A tingling tongue and pain requires professional evaluation.  
Although the cause can be as simple as traumatic irritation from clenching and bruxing, systemic factors such as malnutrition, nerve injury, central nervous system lesions such as herpetic lesions and growths along the course of the trigeminal nerve can all feel the same.

Tingling: These symptoms ore neuropathic in nature and need to be evaluated by a neurologist.  I would recommend she sees an md as soon as possible..

Lt facial discomfort: I assume you have been examined by your medical doctor and/or an ENT specialist. Your next step should be an exam by a dentist.
The symptoms you are having may be related to tmj/tmd. This is most often due to bruxism (chronic teeth grinding and/or clenching), a bad bite, or loss of teeth.
See your dentist or one who specializes in TMJ problems.

Punctate focus: A lot of people have a tiny spot on their MRI.  That is what a punctate focus of T2 means.  Although it does not explain why your tongue is tingling, it helps to show that your brain and the nerves coming out of it look good, and that there is no apparent illness there.  Good news!

Imaging?: I would suggest imaging (MRI) to exclude the possibility of a nerve lesion affecting cranial nerves or brainstem. See a neurologist.
