Varies: There are multiple potential causes.  Among the top two are probably vascular and neurogenic forms of claudication.  Don’t hesitate to be seen for a specific diagnosis and treatment options.

Caution: Whenever there is pain in the calf it is prudent to rule out a deep vein thrombosis or clot. The foot numbness may or may not be related. There are nerves that run down the leg and end in the foot so impingement on the nerve can cause foot numbness. Sometimes, the etiology might actually come from the back. See a doc for a proper exam.

Knee, hip, back: If the thigh problem is immediately above the knee this could be a knee problem (cartilage, bakers cyst, joint problem). Knee pain rarely radiates up the leg. Anything higher up is unlikely to be knee. This could also be referred pain from the hip or back.  A good physical examination by someone experienced with these problems should give you the answer.

Contact the doctor: Though not common but it accidental nerve injury is a possible side effect of the procedure. You need to check with the doctor for assessment and management

Nerve,vein or muscle: Are you certain that a vein is the culprit? With associated numbness the problem could be with a pinched nerve from a spinal disorder like a disc problem. It's best to have your physician examine you and order the appropriate tests such as ultrasound of the leg veins or MRI of the spine if necessary.

Feet: Your symptoms can't be explained by a UTI. You need a good physical exam by your MD to determine the cause. You are too young to have poor circulation and alternative causes need go be looked for. Based on your exam and history further test can be done. Call and see your MD.
