Eustac. tube: This is probably just the eustac tube equalizing the pressure.
It is similar to the process you use to ease the pressure when flying.

Unless you have pain, or consistent problems, this should disappear.

hello i am having some pain in my ear when i burp or whenever i remove headphone ear buds from the ear. do you know why this could be happening?

Sounds like: you may have an EXTERNAL OTITIS ("Swimmer's Ear) (Infection of the external ear canal)  Antibiotic ear drops are necessary and these must in most locations be prescribed by a physician (orPA) You could also consider a Health Tap Prime consultation (with an M.D. with a license in your State(IL)

Ear popping: When you burp you are inflating the ear nose connection through the Eustachian canals  to inner ear and sensitizing the carotid arteries that traverse through the  bonny canals in the skull  that is sensitizing the vessel .So you feel the haert beat in ears . normal. If want to avoid stop the excessive burping  and air swallowing

Ignore it: Ignore it. See a doctor is the pain becomes severe or last more than a few days.

i have clicking/popping sound in ear when i burp im almost 99% sure it isnt ear wax. i also have sudden onset tinnitus in right ear no noticeable hearing loss. could it be eustachian tube dysfunction and glue ear?

Recommend: Suggest you get audiogram and even have visit to ENT specialist.  Tinnitus can be associated with hearing loss, but the sudden attacks may raise question of Meniere's.  Hope this helps.

FromThJawbonesOfFish: I'll bet you are having a nervous twitch of the stapedius muscle that regulates tension on the ear drum.It's the smallest muscle in the body attached to the smallest bone.The ear bones ('ossicles') are, evolutionarily related to the jaw bones of fishes! So,like a nervous twitch of the lip or eyelid,etc.for some reason you get it  in the ear. The 'thump' is the sound of the ear drum quickly tensing

Yes: You can take up to 4 tablets of Zyrtec a day but beware that it may cause drowsiness in some people. I am a little puzzled as why Zyrtec works at all in your ear condition since it possesses no decongesting property.
