Very soon: When you stop oral contraceptives, most women get their cycle back a month later. In a small percentage of women it can take longer and if it does not come in two months, i would see your gyne. I would also do a pregnancy test at that point if there is a chance you could be pregnant.

Maybe: If had a biopsy a year ago and your doctor ruled out cancer as cause of your thickened lining, and you're not having any irregular bleeding, then you might be okay.  An endometrial biopsy is only good for 1 year, so it may be time to discuss any uterine conditions with your doctor again.  Lots of small fibroids often do not need to be operated on, especially close to menopause. Call dr for appt.

ultrasound in 2018 stated mild adenomyosis. im worried now that it could be mistaken for endometrial cancer as it also causes a thickened lining of the uterus. would i have had more symptoms by now if it was (god forbid) cancer? should i get biopsy?

: An ultrasound diagnosis of "adenomyosis" will explain periods with more pain and bleeding, as the infiltrating endometrial cells prevent the extensive uterine contractions which lead to excessive bleeding.  Thickened endometrial lining , if over 1 cm in width should be biopsied, but at age "31" is unlikely to be overt malignancy.  Oral bcp can reduce cramping and bleeding.

if i have endrometrial thickening of 15.4, no period for 12 weeks, pelvic pain but biopsy is normal should i still get progesterone to thin the lining?

Depends: If the fluid is there because of an infection, then there would likely be pain as well.  The fluid itself can cause crampy pain if there is enough to create pressure inside the uterus.

Depends: A thick endometrium can be normal if it is part of a normal ovulation cycle. However if your periods are not normal, it may be abnormal. If concerned, a doctor can do a simple biopsy. Sometimes it can be treated with medication, or possibly with outpatient surgery if needed.

Endometrium 22mm: At 24 it is unusual for your endometrial lining to be "22 mm by ultrasound".  If your menstrual cycles are irregular, you may not have ovulated, so the constant estrogen stimulation of your endometrium would have made it thicker.  Ask your gyn provider about an endometrial biopsy and oral bcps (if no contraindication) to control estrogen production in non-ovulatory cycles.

0.8 cm: But it varies, for evaluation purposes it's more important to know the structure of the lining by looking at it under a microscope.

how/why does a polyp keep your endometrial lining from shedding?

Blockage: A polyp sits atop the endometrial and usually partially made of endometrial material.  When the endo lining sheds, the part under the polyp cannot shed as the polyp blocks its.  Think of rain falling on a field with a huge thick tree setting in the middle.  The rain cannot really get to the ground under the tree as it is blocked by the tree; sample principle with the polyp.
