Need a biopsy: Although a thickened endometrial lining can be one of the findings in uterine cancer, this finding alone does not confer a diagnosis of cancer.  Typically, a post-menopausal woman will present with vaginal bleeding to her ob/gyn.  Her doctor will then perform an endometrial biopsy to confirm or negate a diagnosis of cancer.

post menopausal had d&c for 9mm thick endometrial lining. no malignancy. is it very likely that the d&c will prevent lining from getting thick again?

Maybe not: If, at age 61 you have a innate or exogenous (outside0  source off unopposed estrogen, then the endometrium may grow again. If you are taking HRT (hormone replacement therapy) make sure that progesterone is added to the regimen to avoid estrogen only endometrium stimulation.

Unlikely: Endometriosis is related to estrogen. After menopause a woman's estrogen goes way down and endomtriosis isn't as painful.  Thick lining of the uterus after menopause needs an endometrial biopsy to make sure no precancerous cells are growing.

11/19 had hysteroscopy due to thick lining & appearance of polyp results were no polyp & all nrml 6/21 had yearly & u/s. lining 5.1 now lining is 6.8 with endometrial cysts is this cancer i am in menopause?

: Cysts are not cancerous.
You need to be followed by a gynecologist(unless you have been going to one during the past few years) who can monitor the condition of your uterus.
A repeat Hysteroscopy and or endometrial biopsy may be necessary in order to better assess your endometrial lining.

: No, the endometrium should be at or less than 0.5 cm (5 mm) during menopause. You may have asymptomatic endometrium hyperplasia but endometrial sampling (biopsy) is still indicated just to prove the benign process even you are asymptomatic; if so, I wonder why you had the pelvic ultrasound done. Good luck.

Not always cancer: Generally not cancer, but good to have it checked with your gyn to see if therapy with medication or a procedure is indicated.

Tissue examination: The curettings should have been sent to a pathologist for examination and the patholgist can provide a definitive answer to your question.

Cancer: Not very likely but please follow your Doctor's advice. If you are not comfortable by what you hear from your doctor you might have a friend or family member refer you to a different doctor.

Within normal limits: What you describe is very typical for a woman of your age after a dnc there is very little enemy gym regenerating your endometrium is in an inactive state and this is typical you should not be worried.

Heavy bleeding: Typically soaking through a tampon every hour constitutes a trip to the emergency room but if you feel light-headed, dizzy,  heart racing or short of breath, you may be bleeding more than your body can handle and should go to the emergency room.  Taking iron will slowly help rebuild your blood levels.  There are prescription strength iron pills that can be more effective than over the counter pill.
