Dental Supplier: Pumice is very abrasive to teeth and should not be used on a regular basis. Dental suppliers sell it, but the general public should not be using it as it can cause enamel to wear when used too frequently.

is it safe to use vinegar for cleaning teeth?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely not: Teeth will demineralize when exposed to an acid environment, with a ph below about 5.5. Most vinegars don't approach a ph of 5, and some have ph's of as low as 2.4, which would cause significant loss of tooth structure. Vinegar is for salad and for pickling; it is not for teeth.

is it ok to use a scaler bought at drug store to clean stains off my front teeth? does it matter how often? doesn't damage teeth over time, does it?

Stains: Scalers are designed to remove calculus deposits from root surfaces and interproximal areas between your teeth. Surface stains are usually removed with polishing paste. Overuse of any product can have side effects. Remember, use of this instrument is not a substitute for regular dental checkups and cleanings.

Generally not.: Unless you have very sensitive teeth and/or gums, there isn't really a need for local or topical anesthetics for routine dental cleaning.  Children or developmentally delayed patients may require sedation or anesthesia for routine dental procedures.

Stained: Sounds like your teeth are stained.  Start with a professional cleaning by your Dentist/hygienist (there is no OTC substitute for this).  Ask Dentist to customize an Oral Hygiene program for you to maintain the results of the cleaning.

Inter proximal brush: You need to clean between your teeth to prevent gum disease as well as tooth decay
They sell inter proximal brushes in sizes which fit between your teeth one is made by GUM Co (SunStar Co)and another is TePe 
Also there are electric models which claim to replace floss

is it safe to use ultrasonic dental cleaner near teeth which have implants. any cons or pros of using this cleaning method.

Near Implants OK: Perfectly safe and non-toxic. Ultrasonic cleaning has been used for many years to remove debris and calculus. Scaling with hand instruments can also be used. On the implants, a plastic scaler is recommended to prevents scratching of any polished metal surface.
