I : I would consider either cerave hydrating cleanser or cetaphil cleanser.  Both are gentle, fragrance free, and don't tend to try out the skin.  Make sure that your daughter is patient and thorough with the washing process because many kids that age don't spend the time to wash properly!  i also like their moisturizer lotions to use if there is still dryness of the face after cleansing. SPF>30: Darkening of facial skin is most commonly due to sun exposure but can also be due to drugs+sun , melasma, or inflammatory disorders. All these have the same tx: sun avoidance with good uva/uvb block of > 30 all year round. Depending on the cause (should get a formal diagnosis) you can tx w skin bleaching creams or retinoids.

i have redness all over my face. at night i use a benzoyl peroxide cleanser& acne lighteners. i don't know if i have normal or oily skin?

Doctor can evaluate: If a rash on the face is only where the acne medications and cleansers are being used, it could be a reaction to the acne items. If there are also no other ill symptoms at all, a person might stop the acne items and wait 2-3 days before seeing her primary care doctor or her dermatologist. If there are other symptoms going on, or if symptoms are worrisome, her primary care doctor can evaluate now.

26 (f), i wash my face every morning (cerave oil free) and every night (vanicream oil free cleanser) and use moisturizer (hydro-mask neutrogena or vanicream 35spf) but i still have oily skin by 3pm. it irritates my eyes, what am i doing wrong????

Hyperpigmentation: What you have is postinflammatory hyper pigmentation meaning that skin irritation causes increased pigment. Isotretinoin causes increased sun sensitivity which could also cause increase in pigment in your skin.
Treatment is with prescription bleaching cream called hydroquinone.

Accepted Answer

Yes: You should apply a toner and a moisturizer every time you wash your face.  If your face is oily, you should use a thin moisturizer (more of a lotion than a cream).  Not using a moisturizer can cause your face to produce more oil in an attempt to keep your skin from being too dry.  The toner helps to restore pH balance after washing so that the moisturizer can be absorbed.
