SPF>30: Darkening of facial skin is most commonly due to sun exposure but can also be due to drugs+sun , melasma, or inflammatory disorders. All these have the same tx: sun avoidance with good uva/uvb block of > 30 all year round. Depending on the cause (should get a formal diagnosis) you can tx w skin bleaching creams or retinoids.
