: I assume you're asking on behalf of someone else. Excedrin contains aspirin, acetaminophen and caffeine. It's probably okay to use Excedrin sparingly during the third trimester, but it would be prudent to avoid anything that contains aspirin and/or caffeine throughout the pregnancy. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is OK.

not unusual: Almost certain that your headaches do not represent tumors, blood clots, or stroke risks, and will likely depart over next few weeks as you enter the second trimester of pregnancy.  Chances are that these are of migraine origin, but can handle this after labor and delivery if headaches recur.

Common in pregnancy: While it sounds like your situation is complicated with back /spine related issues, headaches in pregnancy are actually common.  This should not be assumed to be normal, though, and should be addressed with your ob/gyn.  You do not specify how far along you are and headaches can also be related to complications such as preeclampsia.  Call your doctor!

Depends: Generally, tylenol (acetaminophen) is considered safe. You should, however, consult with your obstetrician before taking any medication (prescription or over the counter) during pregnancy.  It is best to avoid medications, if possible, during pregnancy and your doctor will weigh the risks and benefits of these medications when deciding. Massage and heat may be better for muscle tension headaches.

i'm having brwn blood /pain on the lower rght side/tension headaches. i had a baby/tubal/sm intestin tear on 9/26/12. could i be pregnant in my tubes?

Complicated Answer: Chances are if you already had a tubal pregnancy, the scar tissue from that event (even if non surgical) might preclude a second pregnancy in the same fallopian tube. But that still mean you must be evaluated with not just a uring HCG test but a serum HCG and probably an ultrasound of your right side. Chronic appendicitis can also create these symptoms. Please go see your primary md or your ob/gyn.

Headaches/Pregnancy: Have you discussed with your obstetrician?  Headaches may be associated or exacerbated with pregnancy.  For tension ha you can try tyelenol.  However, given pregnancy i would recommend injections such as trigger points for muscular pain or massage therapy prior.  It may be beneficial to also try acupuncture.

i am 5.5 weeks pregnant  and i want to know if i can continue taking a  supplemental dose of magnesium citrate. 300 mg, every day. it helps with sleep, anxiety and tension headaches from slipped disc.

Certainly: Congratulations! magnesium is an essential nutrient and is especially important during pregnancy, where it can prevent high blood pressure (pre-eclampsia) and other complications. It is completely safe to take during pregnancy.
I imagine you are already taking a prenatal with folic acid. Biotin and dha are other beneficial nutrients during pregnancy.

Evaluation: You will need to be evaluated by a doctor. Neck stiffness with associated headache and visual changes could be a simple headache that could be treated with Tylenol or or something more serious like meningitis. You will need to see a doctor for an evaluation.

Unknown!: Tension headaches are characterized by dull, non-pulsatile discomfort on both sides of the temples and forehead. Typically last for 30-60 min or for days. Affect at least 40% of adults in any given year. Occur most commonly in the early morning and late afternoon. The morning variety is often triggered by lack of sleep, awkward sleeping positions, hangovers and caffeine withdrawal.  Cause unknown!
