Unlikely: Tendon rupture is a possible side effect of cipro (ciprofloxacin) but it is not that common and it would not cause pain all over. It would cause pain in the area of a certain tendon and in the case of rupture loss of movement in the muscle attached to the tendon.

: Difficult to discern with the information provided.  I can say that a tendinopathy is often from mechanical overuse while a tendon rupture from an acute event.  Also, tendinopathy, while possible in any tendon, does not commonly occur in the hamstring tendon.  I advise seeing your primary care provider or a physical therapist for a careful evaluation.

Achilles rupture: This is a difficult question to answer without knowing more about the history and why you are looking for a third option. In the healthy patient, i wouldn't recommend to a patient not have their achilles tendon repaired surgically or conservatively treated with casting. Patients who are not surgical candidates and do not or can not heal via casting require a brace to assist in gait.

Bigger question?: What other meds are you taking now that's not on the profile. This can impact whether or not you can take alcohol or not. If you are still on pain meds, muscle relaxants, etc. Then it's not advisable to do so. Check with your surgeon for the best answer, so they can document your request in your chart. Risks and benefits: All medications have risks and benefits. Bactrim is a medication like Levaquin. In general, medications are in our body (eg. Liver or kidneys) which may limit the amount of medication. I found retail drug store pharmacists are a good source of medication precautions and may be able to provide a print out for your review. Bactrim is a drug that has been in the market for a long time.
