Bigger question?: What other meds are you taking now that's not on the profile. This can impact whether or not you can take alcohol or not. If you are still on pain meds, muscle relaxants, etc. Then it's not advisable to do so. Check with your surgeon for the best answer, so they can document your request in your chart. Alcohol: Immediately after surgery or while taking postoperative medication such as antibiotics or prescription pain medication should be avoided; the combination of alcohol and prescription drugs can cause severe and adverse reactions. Also the injudicious use of alcohol increases risk of reinjuring the operative tendon area, or causing other injuries. You should discuss this with orthopedic surgeon.
