Not very: I am not convinced infants actually develop fever when teething.They have so many minor viral illnesses between 6m-3y in the same time frame that there is sure to be overlap.If they do I would only accept up to 101. Any higher & i would want to look to some illness as a source.

Possible: Research about teething has been very difficult to perform. Currently, research does not support that teething can cause high fever (&gt; 102) but may cause low grade temperatures. Some believe that fever is caused not by teething but a viral infection that may be going on at the same time.  If the fever is &gt; 102, lasts longer than 3-5 days or she is very uncomfortable, i would have her checked out.

Is he eating ok, sleeping and not having trouble breathing? Then the usual tylenol (acetaminophen) for fever, increased fluids, cool mist humidifier and maybe a cough syrup may be enough. Normal infection: Mild fever and cough in a toddler is very common. Continue to give fever reducer but no other meds. Make sure he is drinking lots of fluids, especially electrolyte solutions. His eating might be off, but will resume once this illness passes. See a Dr for Wheezing, severe coughing with throwing up, fever over 39.
