Not likely.: If you have a staph infection, get treated medically.  This is not an organism to fool around with.  Otc treatments are generally effective for very little of anything.

Could be a fungal: Infection. You need an anti-fungal if it is and not tree oil. And it could also be a cellulitis do see your doctor for treatment.

Human use has less good data, but the initial small, uncontrolled studies suggest it may have some role in wound healing. I wold not do this.: In a baby, i would avoid this substance.  It could be very unconfortable for a baby and there is not reason to do such.  There are much better ways to treat a yeast infection.

Allergy? UTI? STD?: TTO can be very irritating and should not be used in the genital area. There is no proof of effectiveness for many things listed in various online resources, including yeast infections. And yes, it can irritate the urethra. : Stop trying over the counter and online remedies, most of which are useless. See a dermatologist:  effective (if inconvenient) antibiotics are available.
