Hand surgery may be practiced by graduates of  orthopedic surgery and plastic surgery and it is preferrable to see a fellowship trained hand surgeon.

Maybe, maybe not: Hand surgeons may have background training in orthopedics, plastic surgery or general surgery, but all have additional expertise and training in surgery of the hand. Hand injuries are common and the best results are generally seen when the first treatment is the best. Most injuries also require specialized postop hand therapy to achieve the best result. No: A simple "sprain" of your wrist would certainly be healed by 7 and one half months.  It suggest something more is going on.  What you really need is a very specific diagnosis of your injury at this point; and then based upon that diagnosis, coming up with an appropriate treatment plan to get you better.

Hand surgeon: Depending upon the fracture personality:  pins, plates, screws, and external fixators may be considered. Surgeon preference is also a factor.

Hand surgery: Sorry you experienced some trauma to your finger. Your hand surgeon will evaluate your injury and damage to your skin, muscles, tendons, bone,nerves,and blood supply. They will reattach your tendons and hopefully your nerve function is intact and you will make a recovery and do hand therapy. That is a good idea: Hands are very frequently injured, and the best results are generally obtained if the first treatment is the best treatment. Tendon injuries in the fingers can be complex injuries that are difficult to repair and may require complicated hand therapy assistance postop for the best result. See a surgeon with specific expertise in the treatment of hand injuries(may be ortho, plastic or general.).

Hand Surgeon: They are orthopedist (medical doctors specializing in bone and joint disease) who have a specialty fellowship in surgery of the hand and often the elbow too.  They usually do some general orthopedics as well unless in a very large group where there are sub=sepcialty clinics of different  surgeons.

Not necessarily: If doesn't bother you, then leave it alone. Ganglion cysts tend to recur after removal and they never turn into anything serious.

which dr to contact, spine or hand surgeon? having sporadic spasms at the base of thumb, seized & couldn't move my thumb, it was drawn into my hand. have foraminal stenosis c5 and had cmc arthroplasty and 3 level acdf. what causes it?

: If you're not experiencing hand or thumb symptoms in between episodes of spasms, you could  start with an evaluation by a neurologist or neurosurgeon in view of your neck surgery.  However since you had a thumb arthroplasty the hand surgeon can also be consulted to  reassure you that the surgical site is not a problem.
