Yes: Yes, if you enjoy tai chi it can be an effective stress reliever.  It combines gentle movement with a meditative approach, training mind and body in a healthy way.  You need to have a good teacher though, who embodies the principles.  There are videos, but probably this isn't as good as having someone you can ask questions of while you're practicing.

Should be treated...: Gerd is common but is not amenable to Tai Chi. However, there are easy solutions if you have just symptoms. If however you have inflammation due to gerd, this can be progressive &amp; needs to be controlled. Start with behavior &amp; diet changes (see prior healthtap answers), add acid-blocker medications (either h2-blockers or ppi's). Get evaluated especially if atypical, chronic &amp;/or worsening distress.

You might want to try each!
