Tell your MD: I would tell your MD and see if they have any older medication that will help reduce the symptoms of COPD yes cost less. Maybe pulmacort or other inhailed steroid

ive had copd for 15 years . taking daily spiriva every 24 hours & symbicort twice daily. i quit smoking 11 years ago, wish i would of quit sooner. i have a nebulizer if needed. will nebulizer tx stop the progression of copd?

: The medication for bronchodilation does not change progression, but it does control symptoms. The contr of inflammation  and avoiding further exposures are important in your management. A COVID-19 booster, Flu and pneumococcal vaccine are recommended.

i was told i have inflammed lungs , does that mean i have copd ....i was prescribed symbicort i don't like steroids plus i take clonazapam for anxiety does that interfere with symbicort?

: Please check with your physician and pharmacy. The Symbicort inhaler combines a long acting bronchodilator and anti inflammatory treatment for COPD or asthma typically. A lung imaging study and pulmonary function testing is often useful. Watch for signs of thrush and rinse mouth after use.

Drugs: Some of the drug companies have programs to help provide drugs for people who can not afford them.  I would look at the website for the drugs and you can apply through them.

Probably more going : Is "ptb" short for pulmonary tuberculosis?  While extensive TB could leave you with some shortness of breath, COPD is more typically associated with a long smoking history.  Asthma could also be an issue.  Symbocort is a good drug for either condition.

is it safe to take benadryl (diphenhydramine) with cymbacort , i have copd and  mild asthma but am having some allergy symptoms right now?i also use rescue inhaler

It is safe: It is safe to use an antihistamine with the inhaled steroid. Occasional use of a rescue inhaler is safe. If you are needing it on a more frequent basis then check with your doctor. Allergy symptoms often times respond to Benadryl (diphenhydramine) which may help your lung condition also. Check with your doctor if you have any concerns.

Discuss With Doctor: Long Term use of Advair can have many side effects or few depending on the dose used and the duration of treatment,.  Common reactions can include oral thrush, muscle cramps, and palpitations.  Long term use could have some effect on bone density.  You should read the package insert and talk to you doctor.

Many others: Spiriva, tudorza both are long acting muscarinic dilators. Daliresp a pill that decreases exacerbation rates. Other fixed drug combos like advair are symbicort (budesonide and formoterol) and dulera. Also theophylline . Nebulized albuterol  , and Perforomist or Brovana which are longacting dilators, also oral steroids.

Advair: Advair contains Flovent and salmeterol - a long-acting bronchodilator.  Thus it addresses both the inflammation and the airway constriction issues and the two ingredients combined appear to be synergistic.
