Many possibilities: There are many causes of infections of the external ear other than piercings; but it can also be caused by a variety of noninfectious systemic or local dermatologic processes.  Your doctor should be able to tell you exactly what is causing the problem.

Otitis externa: If you pull the tragus, and there is tenderness, this may imply an otitis externa infection.  This may indicate swimmers ear.  Swimmers ear is an infection of the ear canal.  It can happen from swimming or simply being submerged in the bathtub.  A physician can look inside the canal to detect inflammation or signs of infection.  This may then require topical antibiotics.

Infection?: Is it red?  Do you have a pierced ear?  If so, it sound like an infection.

Otolaryngologist: This is dependant on several factors. Does it come and go? Is it painful? Is the skin above tragus red? I believe you need to be examined by an otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat doctor) to give you a real answer for this question.

Shingles?: If there is more than one bump (check in ear canal and behind ear lobe: very likely this could be shingles. Other viruses like coxsackie can cause this too. Of course bacterial infection cold do the same.

my left tragus is swollen, really swollen, no pain but if i squeeze it really hard i can get a white pus out of it. swelling goes down but comes back?

Inclusion cyst: Sounds like you have an inclusion cyst.  Best to see doctor to have it excised and stop the cycle of swelling and draining.

Probably infection: It's not necessary to get a tragus piercing to get infection there.  It's a nice cozy warm spot where bacteria can lounge and, if there's an opening, they can set up housekeeping, causing a small abscess.  Get it checked.  If it's abscessed, it should be lanced to drain out the pus.  Antibiotics might work if a more diffuse soft tissue infection.

: You probably have otitis externa. You should see a doctor or visit urgent care for help.

See a doctor: This can vary from a very mild infection to severe disease such as relapsing polychondritis.  If you have a pricing or injury this could also be the cause.
