i've had a swollen lymph node in my neck on the right upper part portion. it's hard, painless, visible when i tilt my head and immovable. what is it?

Can't say: But if it is not movable I would want it evaluated. It may be something bad.  Normal lymph nodes should be rubbery &amp; float/move a little when pushed.

Inguinal adenopathy: Lymph nodes in the inguinal area are often enlarged because they are doing their job properly in that area of the body. If it persists, is enlarging, has a stony consistency or appears fixed to underlying tissues might then have your doctor take a look. Otherwise it will be likely to recede in time.

i am having laser tattoo removal on the back of my neck. i had my first session two weeks ago , its healing very well however i noticed a round hard painful lump at the base of my skull back of neck. swollen lymph node??

: You are likely correct. Any disturbance of the skin surface as would be in tattoo removal may trigger enlargement of local nodes that can persist for a few weeks.

Yes,you can irritate: it and make it bigger and more swollen,tender. Leave it alone.

: Lymph nodes are definitely present in the armpit area. They serve as filters for bodily fluids and change in size depending on how much filtering they have to do. If the lymph node is getting smaller and remains movable that is a good sign. When lymph nodes get larger and do not change in size it is best to see your doctor for further evaluation.

swollen lymph node right side of pelvic area. doesnt hurt when i push on it but it feels a bit hard. im really worried about it as im not sure whats causing it. its been there for a few days. hasnt grown or anything, half the size of a pea?

: Watch and wait. You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor. Wish you good health!

Not uncommon: If shaving in this area exposes hair follicle to secondary infection, then the consequence is a groin lesion or node  .  Should such a  groin lesion however be noted and is not a phenomenon of inflammation in groin then one would need to bx the groin node for possible malignancy

what are the possible causes of a large painless swollen lymph node in the groin (2 cm or so) that lasted about a month without other symptoms?

Infection or tumor: A large palpable painless node in groin is abnormal and may be inflammatory or neoplastic. One checks the abdominal wall and skin of extremity  on the side of the node. Then one examines rectum and perianal area for inflammation or tumor.  If source not identified then node bx indicated to RO lymphoma or other cause.

Probably ok.: A node that swells with an obvious infection usually is benign.  It may stay swollen forever, but most reactive nodes are less than 1 cm in diameter.  Progressive enlargement over 1 cm, associated symptoms like redness, tenderness, fever, chills or night sweats would call for evaluation.  See your healthcare provider if concerned.

Get a medical check: If you have a knot under the eye, it needs to be examined by your doctor who can then make a proper diagnosis and advise you about treatment. It is not likely to be a lymph node based on its location(lymph nodes are located in predictable sites like in front of the Ears or on your neck(not elsewhere in the area of head and Neck).
