Hello. : Hello. You indicated that you gained 30 pounds in one week - usually that rapid a weight gain is due to fluid retention.  The swelling of your lower extremities helps to support that idea. I don't know if the blood work, and ultrasounds were done before or after that weight gain.  Even if a definitive cause is not known, your doctor should be able to help diuress some of that fluid (if that is infact what it is). I am a psychiatrist, so i can not provide you with a second opinion. However, if you had not yet had that level of weight gain, please get this reassessed by your provider. Also ask about help to reduce the fluid that is being retained in your lower extremities. In the meantime, you may wish to sit with your legs propped up, so that you won't have so much gravitational pull on the fluids.

should i seek medical attention? my left leg and foot is so swollen, i can't move my toes. also has what seems to be a rash that looks like broken blood vessels. my leg is also red and warm to the touch

Go : Go to the hospital immediately. You seen to have a pretty bad infection. You could be in danger of loosing your foot or leg especially if you are diabetic. Act immediately you are playing with fire.

Many possibilities: There are several different things this could be.  You really should see a dermatologist and have a proper evaluation.

See a doctor: Put ice on it till you get to the doctor and take an antihistamine like benedryl. You possibly need oral antibiotics. Elevate the foot as much as possible. Tetanus immunization should also be reviewed.

Spider bite: Sounds like a spider bite.  I am not sure what types of spiders are common or poisonous in Australlia.  If poisonous spiders are common around your town, I would visit the doctor.  If you experience severe pain, abdominal cramping, or the bite site begins to open up like a wound, immediately go to the hospital.

Peripheral edema: The question is did your GP try to find out why you have edema like do you have Cardiac or Renal or liver or thyroid disease or PVD. Once the etiology is identified, appropriate treatment could be given

Back pain : I have seen many people with back pain. I can't tell you how important an in-person examination is needed to help you. More details are needed; the information about the accident and nature of the pain physically and subjectively. Did the leg swelling occur at the same time? If so, I am concerned about a pelvic issue. See a doctor

: Large amount of protein shown in urine deserves medical attention.  Consult your PCP first, who may refer you to nephrologist to sort out the cause(s) and adequate treatment.
