Call your surgeon: I recommend calling the surgeon who did the surgery and let them know. They will direct you to what to do and get you in for re-evaluation if needed. Good luck.

Not normal post-op: If your arm and hand are markedly swollen, that is not a normal complication of the surgery. Call the surgeon. Make sure you have not developed phlebitis in the arm.

been in a sling for a couple days, just had shoulder surgery.. my hand is really cold but not blue what is causing this? and should i be worried ?

You should: contact the surgeon who did your surgery! Not knowing what kind of surgery you had I am unable to comment except to say ..it's NOT a "NORMAL" post surgical event!
A visit to an Urgent Care Center or ER is not a bad idea!

when someone has a mammogram is the arm and hand suppose to get numb why the test is preformed? i had a inter scalene nerve block shoulder surgery

That is different: . 
Prolonged numbness should be evaluated.
If you had interscalene block for shoulder surgery there could be very rare complications because of the procedure. Persistent numbness or even paralysis could happen and careful evaluation and an MRI of the cervical spine can rule it out. Dislocated shoulder can do it also.  Surgical manipulation also. Most of the time it recovers. So relax.

Yes: After shoulder surgery, any swelling that occurs will typically travel down and down and down. It ends up around the elbow and the wrist. Because of this, the outside of the elbow and top of wrist both often hurt after shoulder procedures such as shoulder arthroscopy or shoulder replacement.

Maybe: Given your symtoms i would normally be concern but without more info it is hard to say.  Make sure your surgeon knows these complaints.  Did you have numbness prior to surgery?  Diabeties?

Possible poor result: Cts  surgery is usually safe and successful in over 95%.  Your description may indicate a post-operative infection or scarring, and you need to have a thorough investigation by the surgeon, or even an infectious disease specialist.

Ice, elevate: If you are having severe pain, numbness, weakness, or tingling, you should have it looked at in urgent care. Sometimes swelling can track between the tissues causing swelling in an area further down the body. Too much can cause other symptoms and should be looked at sooner rather than later.

my mom's been having a lot of shoulder pains on her right arm followed by a swollen hand, mostly on the palm and fingers. what could it be?

Many possibilities: First of all, I need to know whether any history of trauma.  There are several conditions that can cause shoulder pain with hand swelling.  One of the possibilities to consider is CRPS/RSD and this usually causes discomfort with hot or cold weather and patients wont tolerate even water from the shower falling on the hand.  Other possibilities could be frozen shoulder, lymphedema.  I need more info
